🔵 “Gem Pack Vol 6” to Release in China Featuring Apple Pokémon!

China's sixth Gem Pack series booster releases on August 7th, headlined by Applin and its evolutions. Each pack contains four holo cards, with 28 different Pokémon available and six holo variations each, numbered individually.

Every one of the 28 Pokémon also releases as an Illustration Rare, bringing the set to seven cards per Pokémon and 196 cards total. This includes a new Applin version that should be China-exclusive, while most others have already appeared in English and Japanese. Twenty-one Pokémon remain unrevealed.

🔵 Japanese government ID card and app to be required for certain Pokémon card purchases next month

Starting next month, The Pokémon Company will require Japan's My Number Card and the government's Digital Identification App to buy select items through the Pokémon Center Online store. The system, made official on July 13th, aims to curb scalping by tying purchases to a unique personal ID that cannot be faked or duplicated the way names, addresses, or credit cards can.

The tradeoff is that legitimate buyers may get shut out too. My Number Cards are only issued to Japan residents, removing foreign tourists, and children under 15 generally cannot obtain one. Residents without the physical card, or those wary of a government ID app on their phone, are also left out, and there are concerns the requirement could later expand to non-card merch or physical Pokémon Center stores.

🔵 Redditor Shares 2018 Receipt: PSA 10 Japanese Gold Star Rayquaza for $500

A Reddit user resurfaced a 2018 eBay receipt showing they sold a PSA 10 Japanese Gold Star Rayquaza for just $500, a card that now commands many multiples of that price. The poster shared it half-jokingly, noting they'd sold it years ago as a broke student to afford food.
