Hey everyone! As always, thanks so much for reading 🙂. I've gotten some great feedback recently on how to improve the newsletter for both existing readers and anyone new who comes across it. I'm currently testing a few ideas, including a possible section on interesting upcoming auctions and maybe expanding the Card Trends section to include set-level trends. Nothing set in stone yet, but I'm hoping to land on a format that settles into a more stable place over time. As always, feel free to reply with any feedback, and thanks again for reading!

🔵 2026 Worlds Celebration Events Offer Pikachu Promo at Local Stores

Play! Pokemon Stores will host 2026 Worlds Celebration tournaments from August 21 to 30, where participating Trainers can earn a Pikachu promo card featuring a San Francisco-inspired background while supplies last.

Division winners (Junior, Senior, Masters) will receive a “WINNER” stamped version, and for the first time, TCG event winners get a themed deck box and sleeves while VGC and GO winners get a themed screen cleaner.

🔵 Worlds 2026 Promo Cards Revealed!

TPCi revealed four promo cards for this year’s Worlds / PokemonXP event in San Francisco. The annual participation Pikachu returns for Worlds Celebration tournaments, and for the first time every badged attendee will receive a special “PXP” stamped foil Rayquaza from Ascended Heroes.

Worlds competitors get the annual Paradise Resort promo in their welcome kit, division winners receive golden “Champions Line” accessories, and two exclusive Pikachu plush will be sold at the onsite Pokemon Center.

🔵 “Pitch Black” Prerelease Promos Revealed!

The English versions of the four Pitch Black prerelease promos have been revealed in full, with the card translated as “Ghost Veil” localized to “Hide ‘n’ Sneak.” Pitch Black releases July 17, with prereleases running July 4 to 12, and players can get one of the four promos in each Build & Battle kit.

🔵 Sylveon Collection Box Sells for $10k

🔵 Lot (90) of First Partner Series 01 Illustration Collection Boxes Sells for $5.8k

The First Partner Illustration Collection Series 1 released March 2026 as part of Pokemon’s 30th anniversary lineup, retailing at $14.99 per box. It features Illustration Rare promos of the Kanto, Sinnoh, and Alola starters, with the nine promos forming connected panoramic scenes when placed side by side. Each box contains only 3 of the 9 promos (same region) at random.

🔵 PSA 10 Movie Promo Charizard Sells for $4.75k

This Charizard (SM226) is a holo promo distributed in the 2019 Fall Collector’s Chest, a seasonal retail tin rather than a standard booster product. The card has become a sought-after modern Charizard promo, particularly in PSA 10 where supply is limited.

The Poncho-Wearing Pikachu Mega Campaign business cards were distributed through a special promotion at the Pokemon Center in Japan in 2016. The series features Pikachu dressed in ponchos of seven different Mega Evolution Pokemon.
