March 2nd - March 8th, 2026 📰 TCG News Note: Some updates may touch on wider Pokémon news beyond the TCG. 🔵 Hong Kong based MemeStrategy Launches Tokenized Pokemon Fund, Targets 25% of PSA 10 Van Gogh Pikachu Supply Note: I’m not 100% sure about the claim that it is the first tokenized trading card fund as I have seen similar services appear in the past that are along the same lines but decided to summarize the article as is in case something about their process is indeed proprietary. Hong Kong-listed MemeStrategy (HKEX: 2440) announced the world’s first tokenized Pokemon trading card fund, giving professional investors institutional-level access to the collectible card market. The fund is built around the PSA 10 “Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat” card from the official Pokemon x Van Gogh Museum collaboration, aiming to acquire roughly 25% of the PSA 10 supply. Secondary market prices for the card have risen over 400% since late 2023, and total print supply is fixed following the early conclusion of the Van Gogh Museum collaboration, with the current PSA 10 population sitting at approximately 47,000. 🔵 PSA Damages PSA 10 Lenticular Deoxys During Reholdering A collector sent their PSA 10 Lenticular Deoxys for reholdering, only to have PSA damage the card during encapsulation, dropping it to a PSA 6. PSA offered approximately $19,250 in compensation, valuing the PSA 10 at $20,000 and the PSA 6 at $750. PSA’s valuation appears to be based on averaging recent comps, but the collector disputes it given the most recent sale reached $45,000 on February 22, 2026. The card is a 2004 Japanese Movie Commemoration VS Pack lenticular promo with only 38 PSA 10s out of 1,927 total graded. The lenticular surface makes achieving a 10 especially difficult. 🔵 Pokemon 151 Card Illustration Figure Collection Coming to Japan Starting March 13, Japan’s Pokemon Centers will sell the “Card Illustration Figure Collection,” a new product line turning Pokemon Card 151 artwork into 3D display figures. Each blind box includes a figure, matching 151 card, and a display frame for 1,800 yen (~$12). There are 13 possible figures, with the secret 13th being the Illustration Rare Machoke. The product originally launched in China last November and is now getting a Japanese release. Notably, the included cards appear to be direct reprints of the 151 set, which is currently out of print. No Western release has been announced. 📈 Card Trends Source: Price data provided by TCGPlayer.com and chart visual provided by TCGMarketNews.com (which sources data from TCGPlayer). Palkia is already a popular legendary, but what sets this card apart is its MC Escher-inspired artwork, which plays perfectly into Palkia's spatial distortion theme and elevates it from a standard alt art.
