🔵 “Aura Seeker” Trademarked as Upcoming Pokemon TCG Set

A new trademark for “Aura Seeker” (ハドウシーカー, Hadou Seeker) has been filed by The Pokemon Company under the same product classifications used for TCG set names. The word “hadou” refers to the concept of aura tied to Lucario’s ability to sense living beings and manifest wave-like energy, strongly suggesting the set will feature Mega Lucario Z as the Mega Evolution block continues.

Trademarks have recently been revealed out of order and sometimes up to a year ahead of schedule, making the exact release window unclear. The known 2026 TCG roadmap already includes Chaos Rising, Abyss Eye (likely Mega Darkrai ex), Storm Emeralda (likely Mega Rayquaza ex), and the 30th anniversary Celebration Collection set in October.

🔵 Ditto Cards Surge in Price Following Pokemon Pokopia’s Switch 2 Launch

Classic Ditto cards are seeing notable price spikes following the release of Pokemon Pokopia, the new Switch 2 exclusive where Ditto plays a starring role. The Delta Species Ditto (Squirtle) 040/113 reverse holo jumped 174% to $245 after holding steady for roughly a year, and vintage Ditto singles like the Pikachu variant (063/113) continue to see small but frequent increases. The surge appears to be driven by renewed interest in the character rather than artificial manipulation, with the game’s strong reception reminding collectors why Ditto has lasting appeal.

Notably, modern Ditto cards like the VMAX from Shining Fates have not benefited from the same trend and have actually declined, suggesting the price movement is concentrated in older, out-of-print singles that cannot be reprinted.

🔵 Chaos Rising Revealed as Fourth Mega Evolution Set, Releases May 22

Chaos Rising has been officially revealed as the fourth English Mega Evolution expansion, releasing May 22 with prereleases running May 9-17. The set is headlined by Mega Greninja ex and features over 120 cards, including Mega Pyroar ex, Mega Floette ex, and Mega Dragalge ex. It draws primarily from Japan’s Ninja Spinner set, which releases March 13.

The set continues a trend of smaller English releases, with an 86-card base set plus secret rares. Ongoing global TCG shortages may be driving Creatures to design fewer new cards per set in order to free up printing capacity. The ETB promo will be Fennekin’s Illustration Rare, pulled from the main set, as Froakie’s IR forms a connected artwork with Frogadier and Mega Greninja ex that would have been left incomplete.

🔵 Lot of 3 Japanese McDonald’s e-Minimum Booster Packs Sells for $10.5k

These booster packs were sold exclusively at Japanese McDonald’s locations for a limited ~1 month window from Jan to Feb. 2002, priced at 180 yen (~$1.50 at the time) with a meal purchase. Each pack contains 6 fixed cards including one cosmos holofoil Pokemon. The top chase is Squirtle #007 averaging around $7.5k in a PSA 10.

🔵 PSA 10 Crystal Guardians Reverse Foil Torchic Sells for $7.5k

EX-era reverse holos featured a distinctive set named stamped foil pattern that was generally more sought after compared to their non stamped counterparts.

​Sales History: Sales data is extremely limited as this is a pop 8 card in a PSA 10 out of 202 grade but in 2025 two copies of this card sold ~$350 and ~$650 making this sale a significant outlier or the previous two sales potentially an error given the difference.

🔵 PSA 10 Start Deck 100 Mega Charizard Y Sells $13.45k

This is the gold Mega Charizard Y ex, a secret variant hidden inside Deck #001 of Japan’s Start Deck 100 Battle Collection. Out of 1,000 decks opened, zero were pulled, suggesting odds as low as 1 in 1,000. The English Ascended Heroes equivalent has far higher volume, which is why the Japanese version commands a massive premium.

​Sales History: 2 days prior to this sale, this exact same card (going by PSA serial number) sold for $9.7k and another copy sold for $12.5k in the same week.

🔵 PSA 8.5 Professor Program Voltorb Sells for $10.2k

This is the cosmos reverse holo variant of Voltorb #100/165 from the Scarlet & Violet 151 set, stamped with the Professor Program logo.

Only 12 copies of the cosmos version were awarded to head mentors at the 2024 North American International Championships through the “Voltorb Drills” staff initiative. It is considered one of the rarest modern English Pokemon cards printed.

🔵 Next Destinies Regigigas Mewtwo Uncut Sheet Sells for $8k

This is a 2012 test print uncut sheet featuring Mewtwo EX and Regigigas EX from Next Destinies with no text printed on the cards (not intended for public release).Portions of this sheet have been graded by CGC.

🔵 Vending Series III 100 Sheet Box Sells for ~$46k

The Vending Series was a Japanese-exclusive line where glossy Pokemon cards were sold on perforated sheets through vending machines for 100 yen each. A full 100-sheet box is original vending machine refill stock, exceptionally rare as most were broken up and fed into machines decades ago. The top chase from the set, Ooyama’s Pikachu, has been selling for nearly $7k in PSA 10.

​Sales History: These boxes are very rare. In August 2025, one of these boxes sold for $12.6k (the $46k sale is a ~265% increase).

🔍 Under the Radar

Ditto has one of the most dedicated fanbases in the franchise, and this Korean-exclusive promo from the 2025 Metamong Project brings standout art by Lee Mina showing Ditto transformed into Lapras, Pikachu, Magikarp, and Lotad.

It was only available through a QR stamp rally at Lotte World Mall in Seoul during a limited window in April/May 2025, meaning supply is fixed and region-locked with no English equivalent. At ~$130 ungraded and an 83% PSA 10 hit rate, this is an affordable entry with strong grading odds for a card that checks a lot of long-term collectability boxes: beloved Pokemon, unique event-exclusive distribution, and growing international demand for language-exclusive promos.
