March 30th - April 5th, 2026 📰 TCG News Note: Some updates may touch on wider Pokémon news beyond the TCG. 🔵 English Mega Darkrai ex Set Coming in July The fifth main English Mega Evolution set will release on July 17, likely based on Japan’s Abyss Eye featuring Mega Darkrai ex. This makes the 2026 release schedule a near mirror of 2025 so far. If the pattern holds, the second half of 2026 could see English sets in September, October, and November, which would be unprecedented. English sets have also been noticeably smaller this year, moving toward 1:1 adaptations of Japanese sets rather than the traditional large combined sets. Whether this signals a permanent shift to smaller, more frequent releases remains to be seen. 🔵 30th Anniversary TCG Set Announced, Releasing Worldwide in September A new 30th Celebration set will be released in Japan on September 16 with a simultaneous worldwide launch. Every card in the set will be foil, with six-card packs instead of the usual five and a brand new card rarity debuting on Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Mew. A “30th Celebration Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon” will release the same day, followed by nine starter trio card sets on October 16 honoring the TCG’s original 1996 launch. The September 16 date mirrors the 20th Anniversary set, which released on the exact same date in 2016. 🔵 Pokémon and LEGO Announce TCG Card Building Contest (Gardevoir submitted by BrickLandSquire) Pokémon and LEGO Ideas have launched a contest inviting builders to create a brick-built version of a Pokémon TCG Full Art card. Builders can choose from a list of 30 Pokémon, including Gengar, Mewtwo, Dragonite, and Garchomp, and must use between 400 and 2,500 pieces. Submissions are due by May 6, 2026. Up to five finalists will be selected for a public fan vote starting May 28. The grand prize winner will have their design turned into an official LEGO set and receive 1% of total net sales plus 10 copies of the finished product. Results will be announced no later than February 4, 2027. 📈 Card Trends Source: Price data provided by TCGPlayer.com and chart visual provided by TCGMarketNews.com (which sources data from TCGPlayer).
